The Borno State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps on Monday said it had arrested four suspects for allegedly defiling two minors in the state.
The Corps Commandant, Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed this in Maiduguri in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
Abdullahi said the victims (names withheld) aged between four and seven years, were allegedly lured by one John Abubakar, 19, and three others.
He said that John and his accomplice had allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with the minors on several occasions.
The commandant explained that preliminary investigation indicated that the suspects enticed the girls with candies to have sex with them.
Abdullahi added that the suspects lured the girls to an uncompleted building and had canal knowledge of them.
He said: “The arrest followed a tip-off by a good Samaritan who suspected that an ugly incident had been going on inside the building for some time.
“We gathered that the girls used to go to the building after they closed from school.
“The suspects confessed that they had sex with the girls for about five times.
“They gave them token of money and candies to entice them.”
Abdullahi said medical examination on the girls had indicated serious penetration with no implication.
The commandant said the suspects would be transferred to the Police for investigation and prosecution.
Meanwhile, the father of one of the victims vowed he would not relent until justice was done in the matter.
He said: “I will seek justice; I will never let the culprits go unpunished.”
