Dolphins Football Club will not be moved by the fact that Sunshine Stars are coming to Port Harcourt loaded with quality players.
Dolphins host Sunshine Stars in Port Harcourt on Thursday and expect fans to throng the stadium in their numbers, if nothing but to see the Super Eagles players expected to feature for Sunshine Stars.
Godfrey Oboabona was ever present in the Super Eagles starting lineup when they won the Africa Cup of Nations just last month and played last weekend in Calabar, Cross River State, against Kenya while Solomon Kwambe also played the full 90 minutes in that game in Calabar.
“One thing I know Kwambe and Oboabona would do for Sunshine Stars against Dolphins in Port Harcourt would be to ensure that more people come to the stadium to watch them. It won’t change the result on the pitch,” Media Officer of the club, China Acheru, said.
“Aside that fact we expect Dolphins to beat them on Thursday because it is not like both of them can win the match for Sunshine.
“Agreed, Sunshine Stars have always been difficult opponents for Dolphins and we expect them to be even more difficult this time with the inclusion of these two Super Eagles regulars but it is Dolphins we are talking about here who know how to rise above all difficult situations to win, especially at home,” Acheru said.
In the League last season, Dolphins beat Sunshine Stars 1-0 in Port Harcourt, a goal scored by Adamu Mohammed, and lost by the same margin in Ijebu Ode while two seasons ago, Dolphins won 1-0 in Port Harcourt and lost 2-3 in Ijebu Ode.
