Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure on Sunday boosted their chances of escaping the drop from the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League by whipping FC IfeanyiUbah of Nnewi 4-0.
In a week 37 match played at the Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode, Ajibade Otegbeye opened scoring in the 17th minute from the penalty kick spot.
Defender Kelechi Ogor found the back of the net twice, in the 51st and 71st minutes, to put the game beyond the visiting team.

Sunshine Stars will on Match Day 38 travel to Sagamu to face already-relegated Remo Stars for their last game of the season.
Meanwhile, the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who was at Ijebu-Ode, has expressed his delight and satisfaction with the performance of Sunshine Stars in the game against FC IfeanyiUbah.
Akeredolu said he was now optimistic that Sunshine Stars would not only avoid relegation but were on course to win the Aiteo Cup with such performance.
Also, the state’s new Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, expressed optimism that the team would have a better outing next season.
