Ifeanyi Ubah FC of Awka, Anambra State said on Wednesday that the club would bounce back from Sunday’s 0-1 loss to Wikki Tourists of Bauchi and win their next two away matches.
Kingsley Obiekwu, a member of the technical crew of the club, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Awka.
Obiekwu, a member of Nigeria’s 1996 Olympic football gold medal winning team, said that the technical crew was still studying the lapses in the team in order to prepare adequately for subsequent games.
He said: “It was a difficult game right from the start and the weather didn’t give us a good chance to play our game and at the end of the day we lost focus, because we are trying to consolidate from our last away win to see that we secure a win in our home match.
“For me, nothing stops us from winning our next two away matches.
“We have a good team and all we need to do is go back to the drawing board, try to work on our mistakes and try to correct them so that we can move on from there.”
The Team Coach, Mitko Dobrev, said he had put the disappointment of his team behind and would look forward to the match against Heartland FC of Owerri on Wednesday
NAN reports that Ifeanyi Ubah FC, which slipped to the fifth position on the league table with 23 points after seven wins, five losses and two draws, will host the Owerri-based football club in what has been tagged an Oriental Derby at the Rojenny Stadium in Oba.
