The Head Coach of Akwa United, Maurice Cooreman, says his team cannot afford to drop any point again in Uyo in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Belgian made the assertion during his team’s last session ahead of the match day 13 date with the two time African champions.
The match holds on Sunday (today).
Cooreman, who previously handled the visitors, said he has technically and psychologically prepared his side for the task on Sunday, insisting that nothing short of victory will be the outcome on the match day.
He said: “As you can see, we are training morning and evening.
“All my boys are responding to the level of training I have given them.
“All of them are fit for any match except Adio, who is still having injury.
“I believe he will be okay soon.
“My boys have assured me they will beat Enyimba in that class.
“Who is afraid of Enyimba?
“We will beat them here in Uyo.
“I know it will be a tough match, but I can assure you that Enyimba cannot have it here in Uyo.
“We have been defeating them and we will maintain that glory.”
Akwa United welcome influential winger, Ubong Ekpai, who is back from trials in Israel, while the Peoples Elephant are expected to name a strong side fresh from their Champions League triumph in Tunisia.
In Jos, Plateau United welcome Rivers United to the Rwang Pam Stadium, in a potentially exciting match day 13 Nigeria Professional Football League clash.
Rivers United arrived in Jos in fearsome form, having lost just once in their last five league games.
Stanley Eguma’s charges have yet to concede a single goal at home but it is their form on the road that has raised alarm amongst their teeming supporters.
They have shipped in 12 goals on their travels this season and will be desperate to correct that worrying aspect of their game against Plateau United.
