A two-day seminar for Nigeria Professional Football League match commissioners will begin on Tuesday (today) in Abuja.
The annual seminar, which precedes the domestic league season opener, will have participants from across the country.
Venue for the seminar, put together to update the knowledge of the participants, is the National Stadium Complex, Abuja.
The Nigeria Professional Football League season will kick off on Saturday in Enugu with Rangers International taking on Enyimba International.
Nine other games will be played on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria’s league body has debunked the insinuation marking the round in some media outfits that it has called off the kickoff slated for March 9.
Kasali Obanoyen, the acting Head of NPL Media Department, stated this on Monday.
Obanoyen described as false, information being disseminated by unnamed online media sources attributing the cancellation to an announcement by the NPL.
He said: “There is no going back from the date earlier slated.
“March 9 remains kick off date.
“Enugu Rangers will trade tackles with Enyimba Football Club of Aba, at the Coal City, on Saturday, while all other matches will be played on Sunday as earlier scheduled.
“Licences are ready, and all other related logistics in respect to starting off on Saturday has been completed.
“We want to assure that all logistics have been put in place for the kick off and we have no hitches of any form.
“We look forward to a hitch free season, while enjoining our partners in progress (the sporting press) to feel free in clarifying ambiguous dissemination relating to the league from our media department.”
