Governors under the aegies of the Northern States Governors Forum have paid tribute to a former Deputy Senate President, Senator John Wash Pam, who died on Thursday at the age of 73.
The Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger State, Dr. Babangida Aliyu, on Friday described the late Senator Wash Pam as an uncommon leader whose commitment to the upliftment of his people was never in doubt.
In a condolence message signed by Governor Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo, the forum regretted that Wash Pam’s death came at a time when the guidance and advice of elders like him were needed to steer the ship of state.
But the forum said it is comforted that the great values that the Second Republic senator left behind will serve as a guiding light to the present and future generations of Nigerians.
The forum described the former deputy president of the Senate as a diligent and committed parliamentarian who worked for the upliftment of the people at all times
The forum called on the Federal Government to honour the memory of the former lawmaker to serve as an inspiration to the younger generation of Nigerians.
The forum prayed God to grant repose to the soul of the departed and grant the people of Plateau State and members of the Wash Pam family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
