The Police in Edo State said they had yet to make arrest over Sunday’s kidnapping of the Managing Director of the Ogba Zoological Gardens, Benin, Dr. Andy Ehanire.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Moses Nkombe, told newsmen in Benin on Monday that policemen were working to arrest the kidnappers.
“Our men are working on that, though we have not made any arrest,” Nkombe said.
Ehanire is the younger brother to the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire.
In the process of his kidnap, three policemen, who were posted to provide security for fun seekers at the Zoo and Nature Park, were killed by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
It was learnt that the killing disrupted activities at the zoo as many fun seekers scampered for safety.
The remains of the police officers have since been deposited at the morgue of the Benin Central Hospital.
