Katsina State Government says all its 2,810 pilgrims are in good condition of health in the Holy Land.
Alhaji Muhammad Rimi, Executive Director, State Pilgrims Board, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Makkah, that only four pilgrims were admitted in the hospital.
Rimi said: “We have four patients, three women and one man, who are from Katsina that were hospitalised in Makkah hospital.
“As I speak with you, the four patients had been treated and discharged from the hospital; I can confirm to you that no Katsina pilgrim died in this year’s Hajj exercise.
“The pilgrims were only treated for minor illnesses, like stress, fatigue, malaria and headache.”
The executive director said the board had started making arrangements for transportation of the pilgrims back to Nigeria.
Rimi said the board was in contact with the Max Airline that transport the pilgrims to Saudi and had promised to start bringing them back this week.
He commended the pilgrims for showing high sense of discipline by following the laid down laws and order while in the Holy Land.
The executive director appealed to the pilgrims not to exceed the 32kg of their luggages as the airline had given luggages limit of 32kg per pilgrim.
