The Secretary of Osun United FC, Layi Adesiyan, on Friday advised referees to be fair in officiating matches in the ongoing 2017/2018 Bet9ja Nigeria National League.
Adesiyan, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja, also urged the Nigeria Referee Association to assign competent referees to officiate matches.
He said the club had recruited new players to strengthen the team in the ongoing league.
Adesiyan said: “We have 15 players on ground and we have recruited 17 players to strengthen our team. We will play our second match on Saturday against Delta Force FC.
“We will work harder to win our remaining matches this season, because we lost our first match last Saturday against the Remo Stars FC of Ogun.
“Our referees contributed to the problem we have in the League; we want fair officiating during matches.”
According to him, the target of the club is to get promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Adesiyan said advised NNL to seek for sponsors that would reduce the financial burden on club owners.
NAN reports that Osun United lost 0-1 to Remo Stars FC in their first game in Group B2 of the ongoing NNL.
