The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted cloudy and sunny weather conditions for Tuesday, with prospects of scattered thunderstorms over most parts of Nigeria.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook released on Monday in Abuja predicted partly cloudy to cloudy and morning thunderstorms over Abuja, Lafia, Makurdi, Lokoja, Bida, Minna, Yola, Gombe, Bauchi, Ilorin, Mambilla Plateau, and Jalingo.
It added that thundery activities were likely over Abuja, Lafia, Makurdi and Lokoja axis with partly cloudy condition over the remaining parts later in the day.
It also predicted that the central cities would have day and night temperatures of 28 to 36 and 17 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency further predicted that the Northern States would experience sunny condition throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 28 to 38 and 15 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, Southern States will experience cloudy morning over South West inland and its coast with chances of morning thunderstorms over Enugu, Abakaliki, Awka, Umuahia, Ikom, Owerri, Calabar, Eket, Uyo, Port Harcourt, Yenegoa and their environs.
NiMet predicted: “Scattered thunderstorms are anticipated over the entire region in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 30 to 34 and 21 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Prevalence of dry winds in the country will reduce the spread of rainfall activities across the country in the next 24 hours.”
