The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted cloudy skies over the Central States of the country on Friday with prospects of localised thunderstorms over Kaduna, Minna and Abuja during the morning hours.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 37 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
It added that localised thunderstorms were expected over places like, Jos, Lokoja, Abuja, Lafia and Mambilla Plateau axis during the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency predicted that the southern States would experience increased morning cloudiness with possibilities of localised rains Calabar and Portharcourt axis.
It also predicted prospects of localised thunderstorm over the region during afternoon and evening period with day and night temperatures in the range of 29 to 33 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, Northern States will experience cloudy to partly cloudy conditions with prospects of localised thunderstorms over places like Maiduguri, Dutse, and Kano and Nguru axis in the afternoon and evening period.
NiMet predicted: “Northern states are also expected to have day and night temperatures in the ranges of 31 to 39 and 24 to 28 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Cloudy situation is expected to prevail over the country with possibilities of localised thunderstorms and rains over some places, most especially the central cities down to the southern cities in the next 24 hours.”
