Nigerian-born teenage sensation, Jordon Femi Ashley Ibe, is hoping Sunday’s Liverpool debut will spur him to establishing a successful career with the Anfield club.
The 17-year-old made his senior team bow against Queens Park Rangers at Anfield in the Reds’ final game of the season, playing 64 minutes of the match.
And it was an impressive start for Ibe, who made the assist for Philipe Coutinho’s winner in the 1-0 victory, which saw Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, make his 737th and final appearance for the club.
Ibe started his youth career with Charlton Athletic before moving to Wycombe, signing for Liverpool from the Wanderers last year.
He had made seven first team appearances for Wycombe and has also made an international appearance in his England Under-18 debut against Italy last October.
The teenager is now hoping that the experience of his Premier League début will help him kick on in his Liverpool career.
“I feel very confident because now I’ve played here, I’ve got a little bit of experience so I know what it takes to play here,” Ibe said.
“Hopefully I can build on that and take it into the new season. I feel over the moon to be playing at Liverpool in such an important match, especially Carragher’s last match.”
