The South Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, Lee In-tae, says Nigeria’s entertainment industry is thriving and hails ‘Northside Kingz’ and `Julimore’ Dance Crew for winning the 2018 K-Pop Dance Competition.
In-tae in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Abuja, said Nigeria was blessed with talented youths in the entertainment industry making waves around the globe.
He said young Nigerians had participated in the K-Pop Dance Competition for seven years running.
He said: “The Nigerian entertainment industry can surely generate tremendous employment opportunities and create wealth for Nigerians.
“However, I am happy that K-Pop in Nigeria is providing such platform to promote creativity and entertainment, enabling Nigerian youths to showcase their talents and improve their skills.
“The overall winners, Northside Kingz who won in the adult category and ‘Julimore’ who emerged winner for the student category, did very well.
“However, this year’s edition of K-Pop served as the preliminary stage for the KSB World K-Pop Competition in Korea.
“It means that two of the overall best teams will qualify to enter for the next stage of the KBS World K-Pop qualifying rounds in South Korea later in the year.”
While Northside Kingz Dance Crew won in the adult category, `Julimore’ Dance Crew emerged winner for the student category.
