A Nigerian Pastor who is based in Durban, South Africa, Timothy Omotoso, will spend at least 12 nights in prison over allegations of sexual assault and human trafficking.
The 12 days began counting on Friday when the popular televangelist was denied bail and his case adjourned to May 3, 2017 by a Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court.
According to reports from the Herald Live, Omotoso, who pastors Jesus Dominion International with headquarters in Durban, is charged with two counts of human trafficking and two counts of sexual assault.
Members of his church stood by him during his appearance in court, marching and praying outside the Magistrate’s Court premises.
Omotoso was arrested at the restroom of the Port Elizabeth Airport and handcuffed by the police on Thursday before he appeared in court on Friday.
He was accused of sleeping with over 30 underaged girls.
