After the emergency meeting of the Interim Management Committee of the Nigeria Premier League on Tuesday, the Hon. Nduka Irabor-led body announced March 9, 2013 as the new kick off date for the Nigeria Premier League 2012/2013 season.
The postponement from February 16 to March 9, 2013 was occasioned by the inability of Total Promotions Limited and Globacom to conclude the mutual agreement they earlier reached on the issue of Title Sponsorship.
According to the Secretary, Tunji Babalola, the Interim Management Committee of the Nigeria Premier League is exploring other funding options to start the season.
Meanwhile, draws for the 2012/2013 season will be held at the FIFA Goal Project auditorium, National Stadium Abuja on February 15, 2013 at 10am.
All clubs chairmen have been invited to attend the draws.
The Interim Management Committee of the league will also meet with all club chairmen after the draws to brief them on the progress made so far and the vision for the way forward.
