The Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna has conducted the mandatory coronavirus test for its players and officials as directed by the Nigeria Football Federation.
The club’s Media Officer, Malam Alhassan Kutigi, made this known on Wednesday while speaking with newsmen in Minna.
“Yesterday (Tuesday) we conducted COVID-19 test for our players and officials as directed by the NFF in line with the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines and the Presidential Task Force protocols on COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
Kutigi said that the exercise which took place at the molecular laboratory of the General Hospital in Minna was done in line with the NCDC guidelines and Presidential Task Force protocols on COVID-19.
He said that old and new players, coaches and other officials were tested during the exercise.
The media officer said that the club had since resumed full training, preparatory to the commencement of 2020/2021 football season, upon the lifting of ban on contact sports.
“We have played series of friendly matches and also preparing to participate in at least two pre-season tournaments before the commencement of the Nigeria National League (NNL) football season.
