Barely one week after students in the state endorsed him, youths in Niger State have vowed to cast their votes for Umar Nasko during the 2015 general elections.
They said their resolve is to support only a youthful candidate for gubernatorial race.
Leader of the group, Hon. Murtala Zubairu, said on Wednesday when he led youths under the auspices of Suleja Gurara and Tafa Peoples Democratic Party Youth Network to the Evergreen Mandate Group secretariat in Minna to present a letter of endorsement to Nasko that the youth at all level will only vote for a youth for the governorship election.
According to Zubairu: “As youth, we have unanimously agreed to support Umar Nasko.
“He is a youth and we are ready to accompany him to the government house comeMay 29, 2015.
“We are standing on our grounds.
“We remain undaunted.
“We are not aware of any other candidate except Umar Nasko.
“We will give him 100 per cent support.
“We the youth in Suleja, Gurara and Tafa will only support and vote for him.”
In her response, the Director of Finance of the EMG, Deborah Salawu, charged the youths in the state to take advantage of the opportunity and vote in Nasko, whom she said is also a youth with vibrant zeal.
Salawu said: “Change has come.
“You must all embrace this change because you (youths) are the ones who are the leaders of today and tomorrow.”
