A new Speaker has emerged for the Niger State House of Assembly.
He is Hon. Adamu Usman.
He replaces Hon. Isa Kawu, who was elected as speaker of the House a week ago.
Kawu was impeached when the House passed a vote of no confidence on him.
Twenty-one persons supported the vote of no confidence while only three were against.
Last week Tuesday, the then Speaker of the House, Hon. Bashir Loko Goma, representing Wushishi constituency, was removed because of what was termed as lack of competence.
Goma was replaced alongside his deputy, Ahmed Bello; the Majority Leader, Mohammad Dada; and the Chief Whip, Sa’adatu Kolo.
