Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, has extended her congratulations to the newly elected leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students in Diaspora (NANSD), following their successful general elections conducted on March 22, 2025, and the official inauguration ceremony held on April 12, 2025.

In a statement through the Director of Media and Public Relations Unit,  Abdur-Rahman Balogun, she  commended the association for its commitment to unity, leadership, and progress among Nigerian students studying abroad.

She reaffirmed NiDCOM’s continued support for the association’s mission and vision.

Re-elected as President of NANSD is Chris Juwon Fayomi, a PhD student of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at RMIT University in Australia, hailing from Kogi State.

Joining him in the new executive council is Rev.  Okoye Chikelue C, a Doctor of Dental Medicine and Surgery student at South Western University Phinma in the Philippines, who will serve as Vice President and represents Anambra State.

Anita Solarin, a student of Public Management with a major in International Relations at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, was appointed as Public Relations Officer. She represents Ogun State.

While congratulating the newly elected leaders,  Dabiri-Erewa emphasized the vital role NANSD plays in connecting, empowering, and representing the interests of Nigerian students across the globe.

She described them as dynamic change agents and ambassadors of Nigeria who must embody excellence, integrity, and innovation in all their engagements.

“As the voice of our young people abroad, I encourage you to lead with vision, serve with purpose, and uphold the values that reflect the best of Nigeria. You have the full support of NiDCOM as you continue to inspire and impact lives across borders,” she said.

NiDCOM remains steadfast in its mission to foster strategic engagement with the Nigerian diaspora community, with a strong focus on youth inclusion, educational advancement, and global representation.
