Reports reaching The Eagle Online from Warri, Delta State, the venue of the polls of the Nigeria Football Federation, is that the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Sampson Ebonhe, has been arrested by security operatives.
It was learnt that Ebonhe was picked up by the security men on Tuesday morning.
The Eagle Online learnt that following the development, the NFF Board members may meet without holding elections into various offices.
Delegates who had gathered in the hall of Golden Tulip Hotel, venue of the election, have started walking back to their rooms, while some have left Warri because of the development.
The Eagle Online gathered that some of the delegates are already at the airport in Warri booking flights back to their bases.
Some also expressed doubts over the holding of the election based on the court order that it should not hold.
