The Nigeria Football Federation is proposing a friendly tie for the Super Eagles against the Stallions of Burkina Faso on September 15 in Kaduna.
The friendly, if finally agreed, will be a repeat of the Africa Cup of Nations final in South Africa where Sunday’s Mba solitary goal saw the Eagles pip their West African counterparts by a lone goal to emerge champions of Africa after 19 years of waiting.
While the NFF has not confirmed the Burkina Faso friendly, its President, Aminu Maigari, has confirmed that the Eagles will play against an African side in the September free window.
It is believed that the Kaduna State Government will bankroll the friendly.
Earlier in July, the home-based Eagles played the first leg of their Africa Nations Championships qualifying match against Ivory Coast at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna and ended 4-1 winners, a result which aided a great deal in qualifying the team for the tournament proper.
