The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday in Port Harcourt endorsed the decision of the clubs owners on the dissolution of Victor Baribote’s led board of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL).

In its Communique signed by Chidi Ofo Okenwa, at the end of its Annual General meeting, NFF foreclosed any possibility of the sacked board returning to office by approving the decision of the club owners.

General Assembly ratified the decisions of the NFF Executive Committee on the Nigeria Premier League, endorsing the lifting of suspension on Hon. Akin Akinbobola; the conversion of expulsion of Ocean Boys FC of Brass from the Nigeria Premier League to demotion to the immediate lower League.

The Assembly also approved that the NFF Executive Committee receive the NPL and subsequently set up a League Management Committee to superintend the affairs of the League for the 2012/2013 League Season, pending the conduct of fresh elections. It also approved that the 2012/2013 Premier League Season commence in January 2013, before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

The Congress commended the efforts of the Executive Committee and Management of the Nigeria Football Federation in ensuring the qualification of various National Teams for major international championships, viz: the qualification of the Super Eagles for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations; the Flying Eagles for the 2013 African Youth Championship; the Golden Eaglets for the 2013 African U-17 Championship and; the credible performances of the U-20 and U-17 Women National Teams at FIFA competitions in 2012.
