The Nigeria Football Federation has praised the Bauchi State Government for allocating 13 hectares of land for the proposed National Technical Centre in the state.
The President of the NFF, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, who is also a prominent son of Bauchi State, made this disclosure in Abuja on Monday after meeting with Governor Isa Yuguda.
“The Government of Bauchi State has allocated 13 hectares of land to the proposed National Technical Centre in Bauchi State – one of the FIFA Goal Projects that we are embarking on and for which we already have the go-ahead of world football-governing body, FIFA,” Maigari said.
“For this great gesture, the NFF is full of appreciation to the Bauchi State government,” he added.
The project will form part of the three-arm FIFA Goal Project 2, for which the NFF already has provisional approval, working hand-in-hand with the FIFA Development Officer for West Africa, Mr. Sampon Kablan.
The other National Technical Centres are billed for Lagos and Anambra States.
On Monday, Kablan said he was excited by the approval of the Bauchi State Government.
He said: “Now, surely work can start. Once we finish with that of Bauchi State, we move to the other states.”
