Sixty-seven persons were injured in two blasts that occurred at Madagali Central Market in Adamawa State on Friday morning, the National Emergency Management Agency has said.
In a statement issued by Sani Datti, the Head of Media and Public Relations, in Abuja, NEMA said the cause of the blast, which occurred at about 11am, had yet to be ascertained.
Datti said the victims had been evacuated to Michika General Hospital for treatment.
He also said the number of the dead had not been confirmed and that further details would be made available in updates later.
The NEMA Coordinator in Adamawa State, Sa’ad Bello, had confirmed the occurrence of two blasts in the market earlier.
