The National Examination Council, NECO, has begged Zamfara, Adamawa, Kano, Gombe, Borno and Niger state governments to settle the N1.8billion examination fees of their candidates for the 2021 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) internal.
The examination body in a statement signed by the Head, Information and Public Relations Division, Azeez Sani and made available to journalists appealed to them to do so in order to facilitate the release of the result of such candidates.
It would be recalled that NECO Registrar, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi had on 29th October 2021 announced the release of the results of the 2021 SSCE for school-based candidates.
Prof. Wushishi also said the entire northern states owe the examination body N2.8 billion debt for the students they registered in 2019.
The statement also said all ad hoc staff involved in the conduct of the 2021 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for school-based candidates have been fully paid.
According to the statement, the ad hoc staff include 18,243 Supervisors, 887 Assistant Supervisors and 65,159 Examiners.
The statement appreciates the contributions of the Supervisors and Examiners in the success story of the Council over the years, adding that “the payment which commenced last week has been concluded.”
The examination council also reiterated its determination to strengthen the existing cordial relationship between it and the ad hoc staff.
