The Nigeria Council of Women Societies in Anambra State has called on security agencies to work in harmony to ensure that the kidnapped school girls in Dapchi, Yobe are rescued.
The state President of the council, Oby Obodozie, made the call in Awka on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
She said that all hands should be on deck in effecting their safe return to their loved ones.
Obodozie said: “This is not the time to apportion blame but security agencies have to work in trust and synergy to rescue the innocent girls.
“They should not allow them to stay more than expected as the case of Chibok girls where some of them are still in captivity.”
Obodozie called on girls especially from the northern part of the country not to be deterred in their quest to pursue formal education.
She said: “Acquiring education cannot be underestimated among the girls even if that is their aim of attacking girls schools.
“Girls especially from the northern part should embrace educational knowledge for that is the only key to enlightenment in this present world.”
NAN recalls that 110 students of Government Girls Technical College Dapchi in Yobe State on February 19 were abducted by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
