The Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed the state’s N108 billion Appropriation Bill 2015.
The Acting Chairman of the House Committee on Budget and Appropriation, Francis Orogu (PDP-Keana), had called for speedy passage of the bill.
Orogu explained that it would enable the State Government to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
He urged his colleagues to pass the bill to enable the government to execute development projects for the benefit of the people.
He recalled that Governor Tanko Al-makura had presented a budget of N107,904,891,045 to the House.
He said: “We effected a marginal increase of N230,110,759 on the budget so as to give room or take care of the salaries of the staff of the assembly.”
Mohammed Baba-Ibaku (PDP-Udege) stressed the need for the full implementation of the budget for the overall development of the state.
Speaker of the House, Alhaji Musa Ahmed (PDP-Nasarawa Central), directed the clerk to produce a clean copy of the bill for the governor’s assent.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that Governor Al-makura presented the budget to the legislature on December 31, 2014.
