The mother of Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun, an Assistant Editor-in-Chief with the News Agency of Nigeria, Alhaja Risikat Ajoke Balogun, is dead.
Alhaja Balogun passed on peacefully in her son’s residence in Ibadan on June 6.
She was aged 80 and was buried according to Islamic tenets in her Lagos residence on Saturday.
In a statement issued by the deceased’s eldest child, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the eighth day Fidau prayers will hold at 10, Ogundipe Street, Alapere, Lagos on June 13.
Balogun said some Islamic clerics from Ibadan, Lagos and Ogun States as well as family members are slated to grace the prayers.
The late Alhaja Balogun, popularly known as Alhaja Temitope, was born in Oko Olomi in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State in 1935.
She was survived by six children and 19 grandchildren, among whom is Abdur-Rahman Balogun.
Alhaji Balogun said: “Our mother had a fulfilled life: she witnessed the successes of her children, nieces, nephews and arrival and excellent perfomances of some of her grandchildren.
“Maami was a very active, loving, caring, kind-hearted, religious and ever ready to help anybody, including her family members. I will surely miss her.”
