The final fidau prayers for Alhaja Risikat Ajoke Balogun, the mother of Abdur-Rahman Balogun, an Assistant Editor-In-Chief with the News Agency of Nigeria, will hold on October 17.
Alhaja Balogun passed on peacefully in her son’s residence in Ibadan on June 5 at the age of 80.
She was buried according to Islamic tenets in her Lagos residence on June 6.
A statement issued by Abdur-Rahman Balogun said the final Fidau prayers will hold at NAN Media Event Centre, National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos on October 17.
Balogun said some Islamic clerics from Ibadan, Lagos and Ogun States as well as family members and friends are slated to grace the prayers.
The late Alhaja Balogun, a.k.a. Alhaja Temitope, was born in Oko Olomi in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State in 1935.
She was survived by six children and 19 grandchildren, among whom is Abdur-Rahman Balogun.
Balogun said in his tributes: “Our mother had a fulfilled life: she witnessed the successes of her children, nieces, nephews and arrival and excellent perfomances of some of her grandchildren.
“Maami was a very active, loving, caring, kind-hearted, religious and ever ready to help anybody including her family members. I will surely miss her.”
