Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State has described the emergence of his deputy, Lady Valeri Ebe, as circumstantial.
Ebe, from Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, was appointed and sworn into office last year following the resignation of her predecessor, Obong Nsima Ekere, from Ikot Abasi LGA.
Akpabio, who stated this after a thanksgiving service for Lady Ebe at St. Francis Catholic Church, Ikot Edeghe in Mkpat Enin, said it was difficult to allow such an important office to remain vacant following the surprise resignation of the immediate past deputy governor.
He congratulated her on the merited appointment and attributed such to her Godly disposition and love for the things of God.
He said: “Your emergence was like a child of circumstance and a reward for for your Godliness.
“I am happy for bringing your promotion to God.”
Lady Ebe, who thanked Akpabio for the visit and her appointment, promised to be loyal to his administration.
