Nigerian international, Victor Moses, wants to use his goal against Bournemouth as a platform to kick-start his Anfield career.
The Chelsea loanee scored the opening goal in Liverpool’s 2-0 win at the Goldsands Stadium as the Reds progressed into the last 16 of the FA Cup, with Daniel Sturridge wrapping the tie up after the interval.
Moses, 23, had not scored for Brendan Rodgers’ side since the 2-2 draw at Swansea in September and, before Saturday, had not featured since the third-round success against Oldham.
With his options at parent club, Moses would have wanted to use his year at Liverpool as a chance to show he can shine at a big club and now he wants to use his strike against the Cherries as motivation to do just that.
“It was really important,” he said. “I know I haven’t been myself for the past few weeks but I started and got a goal. I just want to kick on from here and try to get a few more goals in the second half of the season. It’s crucial for me and the club as well.”
“It’s going to be a massive derby for us,” he said of Tuesday’s encounter. “We’re looking forward to it, we know how important the game is for us at the moment.
“We just want to keep working hard together as a team and hopefully, if we can get three points against Everton, it will be key for us.
“It’s up to the manager to pick his own players. I just want to keep on working hard in training and hopefully play as many games as I can.”
