Luka Modric has turned down a new contract offer from Real Madrid.
The midfielder is this year’s Ballon d’Or winner and Real president Florentino Perez is eager to extend his contract.
However, Modric has turned down the first proposal put forward.
Okdiario’s chief pundit Eduardo Inda stated: “The president offered him two more years of contract, but earning the same as he earns right now, €8m net per season. Modric asks that the salary be increased to €10m and for the moment there is no agreement.
“I am afraid that if Madrid does not stretch its arm there will be no agreement.”
Modric’s current deal runs to 2020.
