One of the leading private universities in Nigeria, Babcock University, has honoured Mo Abudu as a Doctor of Humane Letters, Honouris Causa.
The award, according to the President/Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. J. A. Kayode Makinde, is to celebrate those who have inspired the young generation in diverse ways.
“Mo Abudu is media professional and we are proud of the great achievements in her career,” Makinde said while introducing the two dignitaries approved by the University council to be conferred with the honorary award.
Babcock University described Mo Abudu as Beauty, Courage, Faith and Inspiration.
The University further describes her as the “Lady of the Moment”.
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, was also awarded Doctor of Science in Global Economic Development, Honouris Causa.
Abudu said: “I am speechless and honoured to be given this award.
“I am extremely happy to be associated with this prestigious university.”
Abudu dedicated her honorary degree to those who believed in her and have stood by her to make her worthy of celebration.
She challenged the graduating set to think big up ideas and dream big.
“The time has come to act and that time is now,” she said.
The convocation took place at Babcock University Sports Stadium.
Mosunmola Abudu, popularly known as Mo Abudu, is the Chairman and Chief Executive of EbonyLife TV.
She is the hostess and Executive Producer of Moments with Mo.
She is a media personality, human resource management consultant and entrepreneur/venture capitalist.
