Nigeria’s Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has eventually settled the rift between the Super Eagles Chief Coach, Stephen Keshi, and his employers, the Nigeria Football Federation.
The amiable Minister brokered peace between the two parties when they paid him courtesy visit on Tuesday, where he and asked them to bury their hatchet in the interest of football in the country.
Keshi also used the opportunity to apologise to the Minister and the Nigeria Football Federation on his actions and promised to do his best to ensure Nigeria qualifies for the 2014 World Cup slated for Brazil.
He also vowed to parade a good team that will not be disgraced at the FIFA Confederation Cup in Brazil next month.
The Minister also vowed to source for funds for the home-based Eagles to participate in the Africa Nations Championship, popularly known as CHAN.
He assured the President of the NFF, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, the NFF Board member, who is also the Chairman of NFF Technical Committee, Barrister Christopher Green, and Keshi that he would definitely get the funds to participate in CHAN now that the qualification matches are nearer.
Keshi, who returned to the country on Sunday, has told The Eagle Online Sports that he would be jetting out to the Super Eagles camp in Germany with the 12 home-based players, coaches and officials on the May 16, 2013.
The Eagles will start off that programme with a friendly against the Mexican national team on May 31 in Florida, United States of America, then proceed to play Kenya in Nairobi in a 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier on June 5 and then travel to Windhoek to play Namibia on June 12.
