Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State on Tuesday presented N162 billion budget before the state House of Assembly for 2014.
Christened: “A Caring Heart Budget,” the capital expenditure was put at N92.3 billion and the recurrent expenditure at N69.6 billion.
Rehabilitation and construction of state highways had the highest allocation of N10 billion followed by construction of additional mega primary schools at the cost of N3.2 billion.
Other key initiatives included completion of the Ondo State Integrated Power Plant Project at Omotosho and the Trauma Centre in Ondo town with N2.2 billion and N2.5 billon respectively.
Others are Cocoa Revolution Programme at the cost of N2 billion and improvement of Akure Airport also at N2 billion.
Presenting the budget, Mimiko said it would improve industrialisation in the state.
