Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel has pleaded with out of contract Super Eagles’ handler, Stephen Keshi to recall Villarreal of Spain midfielder Ikechukwu Uche and Sunday Mba into the national team fold.
Speaking on the heels of the African Champions dismal outing against Congo and South Africa, the combative midfielder urged Keshi to shelve all sentiments and recall the players in order to stead the country’s campaign in the AFCON 2015 qualifying series.

“I have spoken to the coach to bring these guys back into the team and I hope he (Keshi) will for national interest bring them back. They are good players and are instrumental to the national team successes.
“We are third on the log and we cannot afford to lose any other game if must be in Morocco. So, we need our best legs to turn the table around and qualify for the tournament,” the AFCON 2013 winner pointed out.
Also on Mikel’s wish list for Eagles recall are; West Brom Albion new buy, Brown Ideye and Fegor Ogude.
“These players have a role to play in our qualification for the Nations Cup. We have all played together and we know what they can do on the pitch for their country.”
