A midnight fire has killed three girls working as waiters in a drinking joint in Nnewi, Anambra State.
The fire outbreak was said to have occurred at about 2am on Saturday, according to available information.
The girls, however, could not escape as they had been locked in by their boss, simply identified as Obodo Umu Anumanu.
The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, John Abang, confirmed the incident.
Abang said: “It’s a drinking joint and the waiters who sleep over in the joint lost their lives.
“Very unfortunate.
“The owner has made useful statement to the police.”
