Head Coach of the U-15 National Team, Mr. Danladi Nasidi, has picked 26 players from the screening programme for the team that ended in Abuja at the weekend.
This group will return for the second phase of screening that will take place in May, ahead of the Eight-Nation Adidas U-15 Tournament taking place in Mexico between June 18 and 24, 2012.
About 50 players from top-notch football academies such as Kwara Football Academy, Ilorin and the Abuja-based FOSLA Academy, and some players from the COPA Coca-Cola UK Summer Camp of 2011 took part in the screening exercise at the Football Turf of the FIFA Technical Centre, National Stadium, Abuja.
The free-scoring U-15 National Team on Thursday dismissed the Senior Women’s Team, Super Falcons, 4-1 in a training match at the same venue.
Only 18 players will be selected from the returning group of 26 for the Eight-Nation Adidas U-15 Invitational Tournament taking place in Mexico.
Selected to return are Muraina Sanni, Anas Mohammed, Ajayi Abiodun, Obasi Chigozie, Philip Samson, Hamza Tanimu, Etiboy Akpan, Chidera Eze, Ekene Onwuka, Clement Ogbobe, Njoku Jacob, Sogo Alaofin, Uche Chinedu, Abdul Ahmed, Adewale Makanjuola, Bonaventure Dennis, Awoniyi Taiwo, Udoh Akpan, Lazarus John, Elijah Joseph, Solomon Nsude, Ajetomobi Ojo, Isah Hussaini, Abbas Ibrahim, Mbotidem Okoh and Abubakar Babaji.
