Argentina soccer idol, Lionel Messi, was adjudged the Man of the Match in the Albiceleste’s 3-2 win over Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the Estadio Beira-Rio Porto Alegre on Wednesday.
Messi struck twice against his 2010 World Cup nemesis, Vincent Enyeama.
The petit striker opened the scoring in the third minute, crashing a first-time shot into the roof of the net from 12 yards after Enyeama had tipped Angel Di Maria’s initial effort on to the post.
He added another with a perfectly hooked free kick, which restored the lead for Argentina just before halftime.
The Barcalona star, who clocked 27 on Wednesday, featured for only 63 minutes, completing 38 passes and firing four shots at the Nigerian goal area.
