Mercy Chinwo becoming the Nigerian Idol winner did not come as a surprise.
Even fans and supporters were not shocked by her victory.
Week after week, the petite and talented songstress blew away the minds of viewers and judges. Though the show was aired on Sunday (today), the young Mercy had emerged the winner of the 2012 edition of Nigerian Idol on Saturday after over five months of tough drillings, star performances, surprise evictions and grueling rehearsals.
Earlier on Saturday, Mercy (or Mecinda as she is fondly called), defeated co-contestant, Joe Blue, after the acts rendered three songs and were heavily applauded by the audience.
The show kicked off when Hosts Ill Ryhmz and Tiwa Savage, who was looking as ravishing as ever, called the 12 finalists to render the National Anthem, which was followed by a performance from Wizkid, W4 and Chuddy K.
Judges Yinka Davies, Jeffery Daniels and Charly Boy were extremely impressed as Mercy displayed a tremendously outstanding performance
