Dino Melaye, a former member of the House of Representatives, has declared his intention to contest election for the Senate in 2015.
Melaye told newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday that his ambition to represent Kogi West Senatorial District was borne out of “genuine intention”.
The aspirant, who represented Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011, promised to attract more federal projects to the area if elected.
He said that his party, the All Progressives Congress, would sweep the polls at all levels in 2015, promising that issues of development, empowerment of women and youths would be his major focus as a senator.
Melaye appealed to the electorate to be wary of unscrupulous politicians planning to use money to change the course of voting.
He said that such politicians did not mean well for the ordinary people.
