The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed that a Medical Doctor, Dr. Murtala Sale-Dandashire, who was shot at Kankara General Hospital by bandits, “is alive”.
The Command spokesman and a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria.
Aliyu spoke with NAN on Wednesday in Katsina.
NAN reports that the news about Dr. Sale-Dandashire went viral via X after he was shot by the bandits.
The Police Public Relations Officer said: “The news making the rounds that a medical doctor shot dead at Kankara General Hospital is not true.

“He was shot but is currently responding to treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.
“The terrorists equally abducted three persons during the attack.”
Aliyu said that the police were making efforts to arrest the perpetrators, and rescue the abducted victims.
