Equity transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on Friday with the market capitalisation dropping marginally by 0.02 per cent.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the market capitalisation depreciated by N3 billion or 0.02 per cent to close at N12.426 trillion against N12.429 trillion recorded on Thursday.
The decline in capitalisation was as a result of price losses recorded by some blue chips.
Similarly, the All-Share Index lost 9.90 basis points or 0.025 per cent to close at 38,831.59 compared to 38,841.49 recorded on Thursday.
For price movements, Nestle led the losers’ table with a loss of N5 to close at N1,120 per share.
Nestle was followed by Unilever with a loss of N3.02 to close at N57.48, while Flour Mill lost N1.98 to close at N86.01 per share.
Guinness dipped by N1.29 to close at N255, while Nigerian Breweries depreciated by N1 to close at N161 per share.
Wapco led the gainers’ chart, appreciating by N3.20 to close at N111.20 per share.
Similarly, International Breweries gained 68k to close at N26.88 per share
Union Dicon rose by 45k to close at N9.57, while Zenith Bank and Transcorp gained 30k each to close at N21.85 and N4 per share respectively.
NAN reports that the volume of shares traded appreciated by 167.77 per cent with 727.42 million shares worth N4.91 billion traded in 4,469 deals.
This is against the 271.65 million shares valued at N4.04 billion traded in 4,357 deals on Thursday.
Etranzact was the toast of investors, accounting for 298.17 million shares worth N800.90 million.
Transcorp came second on the activity chart with 76.59 million shares valued at N306.05 million, while Custodyins sold 38.25 million shares worth N79.97 million.
Investors staked N513.33 million on 31.75 million shares of Oando Plc and traded 28.05 million shares of Unity Bank valued at N14.69 million.
