The President of the Senate, David Markm has showered encomiums on the Falconets of Nigeria for their impressive outing in the just ended FIFA U-20 Women World Cup in Canada.
Mark, in a congratulatory message to officials and players of the team, said the girls gave a good account of themselves during the championship.
He said it was the indomitable spirit of Nigerians that gave them victory, adding: “Though we did not win the ultimate trophy, nobody can deny that our girls made us proud in Canada.”
Senator Mark urged the Nigeria Football Federation to do all that is needed to keep the girls together so that they could mature into the senior female National Team in future.
Mark also enjoined the combatants at the Glass House to resolve their dispute so that the crisis would not affect the fortune of our football now regaining momentum.
He was optimistic that the growing momentum in the Nigerian football would be sustained and improved upon, for Nigeria to remain a key player in global soccer.
