Manchester United will have to pay £7 million in compensation to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if they sack him.
That’s less than a year after they paid £19.6 million to Jose Mourinho for his dismissal, said The Sun.
The Norwegian succeeded Mourinho as United boss in December last year, and a flying start prompted the club’s board to offer him a permanent deal.
However United have had a remarkable slump since, picking up just 17 points in as many games in the league.
The 46-year-old has overseen the club’s worst start to a season in 30 years – with their next match against Liverpool at Old Trafford on October 20.
Should United fail to get a result in that match, they would be in danger of slipping closer to the bottom three, and potentially costing Solskjaer his job.
