A 23-year-old man, Nuhu Adamu, has been stabbed to death by suspected miscreants at Tudun Wada in Jalingo Local Government Area of Taraba.
The Spokesman of the Police Command in the state, ASP David Misal, disclosed this to newsmen in Jalingo on Wednesday.
Misal said residents of the area told the police that they heard Adamu screaming on Tuesday night, shortly before he was found dead.
He said: “Residents of Tudun Wada had told us that at about 8 p.m. or thereabout on Tuesday, they heard a man screaming in the area.
“When they approached the scene, they found the man on the ground with a deep cut in his stomach. He was holding a cutlass and a knife in his hands.
“Nobody saw the attackers, but investigations later revealed the deceased’s identity as Nuhu Adamu, a resident of Malam Joda area in the city.”
He said the victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, where doctors confirmed him dead, adding that his remains had been handed over to his relations.
The spokesman said investigation had begun and assured that the police remained committed to ending the activities of miscreants in the state.
Misal said: “You will agree with me that through our efforts, this criminality rarely occurs now; unlike in the past where such cases were reported almost on weekly basis.”
