The police on Friday arraigned a 30-year-old man, Idowu Hammed, in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State for allegedly stealing motorcycles worth N1.115 million.
The suspect, who was charged by the Oyo State Police Command with stealing, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Sergeant Philip Amusan, told the court that Hammed allegedly committed the offence sometime in 2021 at New Garage area, Ibadan.
He said that the four TVS motorcycles worth N840,000 were property of one Abiodun Olanrewaju.
Amusan said the defendant also allegedly stole one motorcycle worth N275,000, property of one Folarin Musibau.
He said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum.
Amole-Ajimoti subsequently adjourned the case until April 28 for hearing.
