An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a 25-year-old man, Akinbode Rilwan, who allegedly defiled a 16-year-old.
The Chief Magistrate, E. Kubeinje, did not take the plea of the defendant.
She ordered that he should be kept at the Ikoyi custodial facility pending advice of the state Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Kubeinje adjourned the case until Feb. 21 for mention.
Earlier, the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in 2022 at Bariga, Lagos State.
Ajayi said that the defendant lured the teenager to his room and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
“The case was reported to the police, and the defendant was arrested,” the prosecutor said.
Ajayi said that the offence contravened the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
