A 42-year-old man, Eze Onijekachi, on Friday appeared at an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly defiling his wife’s 14-year-old sister and housemaid.
Onijekachi, who resides at No. 44, Joseph Babatunde Street, Ajangbadi, Lagos State, had pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge of his wife’s sister.
The chief magistrate, A.O. Adegite, ordered the transfer of the case to the Special Offences Court, Ikeja.
Adegite also ordered the remand of the accused in prison and that he should seek his bail in the Special Offences Court.
The prosecutor, Insp. Onime Idowu, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 16, at 2.00 a.m., at No. 44, Joseph Babatunde Street, Ajangbadi.
Idowu said that the accused had unlawful carnal knowledge of his wife’s 14-year-old sister who was living with them and assisting them in looking after their little baby whenever his wife was not at home.
He said the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The case was adjourned until June 25 for mention.
